Charlotte and George Hay, an acting couple are on tour in Buffalo in 1953 with a repertory consisting of Cyrano de Bergerac "revised, one nostril version" and Noel Coward's Private Lives. This backstage farce by the author of Lend Me a Tenor . Fate has given these thespians one more shot at starring roles in The Scarlet Pimpernel epic and director Frank Capra himself is en route to Buffalo to catch their matinee performance. Will Charlotte appear or run off with their agent? Will George be sober enough to emote? Will Capra see Cyrano, Private Lives or a disturbing mixture of the two? Hilarious misunderstandings pile on madcap misadventures, in this valentine to Theatre Hams everywhere.

Mike Evans
(Richard)

This is Mike Evan’s fourth onstage appearance with Playhouse 51.  He made his debut as in the roles of Joseph and Bert the Cop in It's a Wonderful Life.  He followed that with a “critically” acclaimed performance as Dr. Ernie Cusack in Rumors.  His next play was On Golden Pond, where he played Dr. Bill Ray.  He continues in the professional vein in this production by playing attorney Richard Maynard. Mike is a retired Naval Officer who continues to work for the Navy as an operations research analyst.  He sings tenor in his church choir, plays guitar at local venues with his group “Just in Case” and loves to play golf. He is married to Linda and they have four children and four grandchildren.

I am so thankful and excited to get the opportunity to perform in Moon Over Buffalo with great actors that have been so nice and tremendously helpful to me.
